The minute I saw the Sea of Shoes x ShoeMint collaboration, I knew I had to make them mine. Like, if there were a "yoink" button on my screen (future e-commerce peeps of the world take note), that's what I would have pressed. Since arriving in the mail on Monday, I've paraded around the house in them exactly 800 times (give or take) and dreamed up a lifetime of outfits to accompany them... I'm not obsessed or anything.

{WW} Colour-Block Booties

Always down for a good colour-blocking session, these Sam Edelman booties had me at white heel. And cobalt. Oh, and suede... soft, supple suede. Basically what I'm trying to say is these badboys were a no-brainer. The moment I saw them I was as good as sold, although it did take me a few weeks to justify yet another pair of booties � but hey, the heart wants what it wants.

These photos were taken on Thanksgiving Monday, during a leisurely walk around Elk Island with my love. Hands down, this national park is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places I've ever visited, and I'm pretty sure the mister was giddy the entire time � homeboy really likes the outdoors. Me, on the other hand... well, let's just say my time outdoors comes complete with Starbucks, Domino Magazine and full-on accessories. Hey, to each their own, right?

{DIY} Pearl Embellished Booties...

Fall is coming (yippee!), which means that I'm deep in closet re-evaluation land... You know, purging, cleaning and identify gaps in my colder-weather duds. So when I came across these somewhat tired booties from last year, I decided to jazz them up rather than just get rid of them. The result? A fun, updated look that I can't wait to throw on throughout the season.


The supplies:

- Strong adhesive
- Flat-backed pearl embellishments
- Booties

 

1. Clean and dry the heel of your boot thoroughly for maximum adhesion.
2. Start applying the pearls with small dabs of glue, holding down to secure each pearl.
3. Let boots dry for at least 24 hours before wearing, allowing your embellishments to fully cure.

{Style} Classic Camo...

I've been a very busy bee lately, which hasn't left much time for things like proper nutrition, nails that are unchipped and, well, blog musings that are halfway interesting. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm sleep-typing this very post. Yawn. To quit while I'm ahead (read: semi-conscious), I'll leave you with this one realization: I've never met a print combination that I haven't liked. Camo and leopard? Bring it on. The only thing that could top this would be some sweet geometric or polka dot action... Or preferably both. The busier the better, unless you're talking about my life, in which case I revert back to my original statement � You know, something about malnourishment, ugly nails, and... zzzz

When a scarf simply won't do, sometimes you need something a little more akin to a blanket wrapped around those shoulders... Enter my Urban Outfitters plaid cape. I bought it last fall, and on particularly cold days, it gets to come out of closet hibernation and resume its rightful place � Strewn around my neck in jumbo scarf form. Oooh yeah. xx

{Style} Lost & Found...

After weeks of procrastination and dread at the very thought of it, I'm proud to report that my closet is  finally organized. That's right my friends, it's nothing but neat and tidy as far as the eye can see. The process was cathartic and ripe with discovery� take this skirt for instance. I bought it last year and only wore it twice before it found itself trapped behind a stack of tops and miscellanea, never again to see the light of day until this very moment. Liberating. Unfortunately for me (and the skirt) it's only a matter of time before my closet avalanches out of control again, but let's just enjoy the moment, shall we?
