Never one to turn down a photo op, I was pretty pumped when my friend Jerry (yes, the dude in the bacon suit) offered to go on a photo adventure this week... What a guy! Turns out he's a bit of a wizard behind the lens, especially considering the fact that he generally photographs houses and not picky fashion bloggers � And take it from me, anyone who puts up with requests for "vertical lower body detail shots" and "horizontal full body landscapes" without complaint deserves a medal. Or, you know, at least a macaron or two.

{Style} Forever Floral...

Sometimes Forever 21 just dazzles me... I'm trying to diversify my wardrobe and not buy everything from the fast-fashion giant anymore (look mom, I'm maturing!), but every now and then they put out a snazzy, unexpected little number that leaves me making mad-dashes for the checkout. Case in point. This peplum shirt/skirt combo has a certain Tibi quality to it that I couldn't resist (and speaking of Tibi, oh my gaaawd do I want this dress!), and did I mention that it was under $40 for the set? Colour me tickled.

But enough about me, how was everyone's weekend? I want details! xx

Remember yesterday's post about working ahead, batching and doing whatever you can to stay on top of your blog? Well this post is an example of what not to do. For instance, don't neglect to take photos ahead of time and instead force yourself to pose in the rain at 5 p.m.... Just don't do it. Oh, and if you know you're going to an event after work (Cirque de Soleil, whaaaat!), do not leave the editing and writing of your next day's post until after you get home... You know, unless you actually like staying up until 1 a.m. and being a total crankasaurus at work the next day. Seriously, don't do it.

Yesterday was Thursday, today it is Friday � and let me tell you friends � we, we, we so excited... And in case you're wondering if I really just made a Rebecca Black reference, well yes, yes I did � Still want to be my friend?

Soooo, what's everyone getting up to this weekend? Mr. AiF and I are road tripping to BC to see my family (hurray!), and as soon as I decide which seat to take (last one, I promise) the good times are gonna roll... Happy weekending, friendlies!

Sometimes the greatest combos are the most unexpected, like, oh I don't know, a green-toned jungle print paired with a vibrant coral... Hypothetically, of course. But seriously now, there's just something about taking a couple opposites, throwing them together and just watching the dumbfounded looks on people's faces, you know what I mean? Cue the evil genius laugh... xx

{Style} One More Time...

If you were driving down the streets of Calgary yesterday and saw a girl flashing you in a black skirt, that was probably me. But hey, YOU try controlling your hair and skirt on a mega-windy day... Not easy. Luckily we were able to keep it together long enough to snap a few pics and minimize the number of creepy dudes making even creepier comments. And for the record guys, yelling "pull up your skirt" at a girl on the side of the road is probably not the best way to make an impression... Sorry to break it to you.

{Style} Mixed Bag...

I love a sneak peek as much as the next girl, so when Nella Bella sent me their Filix Shopper Tote to preview from their Summer 2013 collection, I was pleased as punch. The bag is sleek and simple in design, which makes it a great go-to for work and travel (in case you haven't noticed, it's huge), and no matter how much I bog it down with the contents of my life, its handles are super comfortable under the added weight. To test this, I toted around a laptop, heels, extra makeup and book yesterday and lived to tell the tale... Now that's what I call a durable bag.
