Mixing prints is totally my jam, but my window for doing it right (aka, without the giant coat and snow boot situation) is ever closing... Now don't get me wrong, there's always opportunity to pair unlikely patterns, but when winter hits (and believe me, it hits hard here in Edmonton), you miss that effortless polish that lighter layers and pumps provide. If worn under boots, these floral pants wouldn't look half as cute (believe me, I tried), and you would totally lose the effect under my parka (shudder). So from now until the first snowfall (tomorrow?), I'm going to relish each and every opportunity to mix things up on the print front... Priorities, am I right?

Sometimes Forever 21 just dazzles me... I'm trying to diversify my wardrobe and not buy everything from the fast-fashion giant anymore (look mom, I'm maturing!), but every now and then they put out a snazzy, unexpected little number that leaves me making mad-dashes for the checkout. Case in point. This peplum shirt/skirt combo has a certain Tibi quality to it that I couldn't resist (and speaking of Tibi, oh my gaaawd do I want this dress!), and did I mention that it was under $40 for the set? Colour me tickled.

But enough about me, how was everyone's weekend? I want details! xx

You know me, always quick to jump on the cheesy-pun express... So when I find a floral print worthy of some good old fashioned word play, you bet your sweet Asos (zing!) I'm going for it� Fleur sure.

Anyway, I picked this blouse up during my inaugural Target Canada visit last week, which has led to re-wearing said shirt more times than I care to admit. But seriously, just try and have a bad day when you're packing tha much floral print action, I dare you... It just can't be done.

Want to know the best part of my weekend? I'll give you a hint: It rhymes with coral tint beans... You guessed it my friends, it was finding these amazing floral print jeans at Joe Fresh! Man, you guys are too smart for me.

They certainly weren't what I was looking for (my Superstore jaunt was supposed to be all business), but when I saw them hanging there with only one last pair in my size, I knew it was meant to be. And just in time for another generous helping of snow... Well I guess you can't win them all, now can you? xx

{Details} Big Hair, Don't Care...

Give me a bold floral print any day of the week, and I'm one happy girl... Mind you, this particular pairing prompted strange, blank expressions and double takes from passersby (that, or my large-and-in-charge-hair that day), but I didn't care. Heck, I'll scream my love for print mixing and exaggerated jewels from the rooftops if I have to! Challenge accepted.
